Master Arm Farter

Made you look!!! Tyler has discovered a new talent, arm farts. I have to say that he is actually pretty good at it. It goes against all of my girly instincts, but it's hard not to laugh at it!!! I can't wait till they make arm farting an Olympic event!!! He'll take the gold!!! Hope you like it!!! Pause the music while you watch the clip to get the full effect.

What's your sign?

No it's not a pick up line... I have always kinda laughed at the whole "Zodiac Sign" theory. Some stuff has happened the last couple of days that made me wonder what my sign (Scorpio) would say about all of it. After reading all about Scorpios, the thing that sticks out to me the most that is accurate is how loyal Scorpios can be. I don't like to be hurt or pushed around, but I always am loyal. If you are in my circle of friends and you make me mad, I will still be your friend when you need me, forever and ever. I will fight to the death for our relationship. I found this web site

www.zodiac-signs-astrology.com/zodiac-signs/scorpio.htm

it's pretty funny. I laughed at most of it but a few things were totally dead on with me. The bottom line of dealing with a Scorpio...

*don't be fake, we know when you are
*if you think a 2 year old can be controlling... meet a Scorpio
*"leave me alone, I can do it" is my motto
*I'm the boss applesauce, great leaders tend to be Scorpios

It can all be taken with a grain of salt, or lived by. I tend to laugh about it. Except on that web site in the "Sex with a Scorpio" section.... yea baby!!! That part is right on the money!!! Woohoo!!! Check it out and see what your sign says about you. Tell me your sign so I can check for accuracy!!!

Happy Birthday Maddison!!!

Yep, it's her birthday, 9 years old!!! It doesn't feel like that long ago that Randy and I had her. It's a whole different life now, a better one. She adds so much to our family. She is talented, smart and one of the nicest people I know. She doesn't ever want anyone to be upset. She is one of my treasures and I feel lucky to be her mom... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MADDISON!!!

The BIG day!!!

And NO that's not a fat joke... it's my mom and dad's anniversary party today!!! We have been planning this for 10 months and today it all comes together. It's sure to be great in every way!!! I'm so excited that I couldn't sleep, I might as well get up and get things done. My Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Linda are staying with us. They welcomed us into their home when we had Tyler. We lived with them for 6 weeks. It feels good to have them in our home. I am learning a lot from this whole party. I'm sure I'll learn more. I'll post later about the things to expect at an anniversary party, it should be entertaining. Well, off I go. Lots to do.

YEA THURSDAYS!!!

I am so happy that "good T.V. night" is back.... I have waited all summer, watching stupid shows for the good stuff to begin again. Last night DID NOT disappoint. Gina watched The Office with me!!!! Laughed my butt off. Then I watched ER and cried my eyes out. So there I am, no butt and no eye balls. It's not pretty. Ahhhh.... so good to have Thurdays back!!!!Another thing about last night... Randy and I went to our first High Priest stake party. It wasn't so bad (even when they all left at 7pm to go to bed... not kidding). Gina came over to watch the kids, so whenever we have a babysitter the first thing we think is, "let's ride the bike". So we go zipping over on his loud bike, pull right up next to the pavilion and everyone looks at us, all 100 High Priests and wives. I was laughing so hard at Randy. He totally planned having everyone know that he is "the young" High Priest". Our Stake President said on the microphone, "I think that's the first time we've had someone come on a bullet bike to a High Priest party". Randy think he's pretty funny. Me too. Overall it was a great night. Now I need to get everything in order for company!!! Everyone will be here tonight for my mom and dad's party tomorrow. I'M SO EXCITED!!!!

p.s. like The Office theme music? I always try to match music to the current blog post, I couldn't help it!!!

CLAY AIKEN IS GAY?

What? I don't believe it... that's like saying "man walked on the moon" or something as unreal. We all know THAT didn't happen. What makes anyone think that my sweet little Clay is gay? Just because he wears more make-up than the average woman, or that cute little way he talks, or that he just had a baby with his 50 year old "best friend" doesn't mean he's gay. I'm so shocked that People would run a story like that. It's not like they are The Enquirer or anything. Next they're gonna say that Lance Bass is gay. Fhew, glad that one isn't gonna happen. I have to have a celebrity crush of some kind, jeesh!!!

Wahoo!!!

This weekend is my mom and dad's long awaited 50th anniversary party. I am so excited!!! My 2 sisters that don't live here will both arrive on Thursday. It's really gonna be a blast. When you get all 6 of us together, things get LOUD!!! If you think I'm crazy, you should meet the rest of my sisters. All but like 3 of nieces and nephews will be here for the party. That's pretty cool too!!! It's been a lot of work but it's all gonna be worth it this weekend. There are some pretty special things planned. Because of death or divorce, 50th anniversary parties are rare. I'm not sure I'll live that long, Randy might kill me. Speaking of Randy, he thought it would be ok for him to "run to Hurricane Saturday morning to do wood for a couple of hours". I'm pretty sure I threatened him enough for that thought to leave. We've been planning this day for 9 months and the only thing he can think is, "is this gonna interfere with hauling wood?". I'll smack him later. Anyhow, lots of fun planned!!!! Oh yea, guess what else, I was noticing that I don't have a good picture of the Temple at our house and was sad because I know how expensive they are, then I remembered, DUH.... I can take my own!!! I have some really good ideas, I can't wait. I'll post them when I do them!!!! Wish me luck!!!!

Piece of cake

Randy has a really cool talent of decorating cakes thanks to his talented mom teaching him her tricks. He has decorated cakes for all our kid's birthdays, baby showers, his mom's retirement party and lots of others. He's always been artistic, but I think this goes to a whole different level. Yesterday was a baby shower for my nephew, Josh's wife Torie. Their little girl will be named Lillian. This is the cake Randy did for the shower.

The picture is kinda light, it says "Welcome Lillian".

This one was for Jake and Angie's baby, Kaylee.

Cambelle's 2nd birthday, "Campbelle's, mmmmmm good."!!!!

Tyler's 6th b-day, it's all about Optimus Prime.

Maddison's 7th b-day, a purse party!!!

This is my great-niece's cake, Sierra.

Randy's mom's retirement party.

Tyler's 5th b-day. Those are cupcakes in the shape of the Autobot sign.

I think this was Gina's, or maybe Brittney's. There were so many that year!

We love when he decorates cakes, everyone is always excited to see what he has come up with every time. I bake the cake and clean up. He mixes the "wedding cake" frosting and does the decorating. I never knew how hard it was till I tried it myself, I wont do that again!!! Randy tends to get teased by my nephews when he does a cake, in fact Josh was making fun of Randy yesterday saying that to do a cake that good, he must be gay, that's when Launa jumped in with, "I would be careful who you are calling names, we don't have 1, but 2 videos of that same uncle kicking your a** at family parties"!!! Josh likes to tease, but Randy, the cake decorating uncle, will always be able to take him down!!!! Great job, Randy!!!!

Do you smell what I smell?

Ok, I have this thing that I do that I never thought was weird until a few years ago. I smell weird stuff, and like it. I like gasoline (Randy does the fueling up when I'm pregnant), the smell of the seam of a new magazine makes me happy (the bigger the magazine, the better), stuff like that. Well a few years ago we had done an enrichment night activity where we made ceramic nativity sets. The girl that put the finish on them brought me one on Sunday freshly done and the smell of the glaze made me very happy. It wasn't dry yet, so I had to hold this camel ceramic piece with a pencil. So, I'm walking around, waiting for RS to start, with a pencil up a camel's butt, sniffing it with a grin on my face..... I was sniffing a camel's butt and enjoying it!!! I didn't think it was weird until my friend, Dave (he calls me "Crazy Hope", and I take it as a compliment) came by and was all sorts of mad, he said I was huffing and when he was a cop in Colorado, he would have arrested me. My response to him, "well, don't you wish you were still a cop in Colorado? sniff, sniff"!!!! Ok, huffing is meant to get high, I just smell stuff and grin, I have no lasting affects, no cravings, no blacking out, nothing like that, I think it's pretty innocent. Then Dave schooled me on my brain, how it's "different" than most (we all knew that), most people that like dumb smells also eat weird food combinations, I don't do that. Now that I start thinking about it... I DID have a son born with a birth defect.....hmmmm, just kidding, it had nothing to do with this. My new favorite smell of choice, Randy's deodorant. Speed Stick Active Scent, YUMMY!!! When he goes to sleep, he'll put his left arm up and secretly I bury my head as close as I can and sniff away!!! Weird, not to me. I bet everyone does dumb things that no one knows about. I'm here to help everyone feel better about themselves!!! You're welcome!!!

The secret is out!!!

So, the big secret was that Randy got put in as the 1st counselor in our Bishopric today!!! Surprised? I was!!! Thursday night at 8:30pm we got a call from a member of the Stake Presidency asking if we could meet them at 9:30 that night. That's never a good feeling. Once we got there, we pretty much had an idea what was going on. It was a pretty spiritual interview. We are both really overwhelmed right now, but Randy's ready to get to work. Our Bishop has only been in for 2 years and he released his counselors and put Randy and Jeff Heaton in. There is no other reason than that is what the Spirit has told him to do. Anna's husband is Bishop in their ward and our good friend, Paul was one of the counselors that was released in our ward. They have given us some really good advice. I have never doubted that Randy is the man for the job but do I look like a Bishopric counselor's wife? I don't think so!!! It was our Primary program today so it wasn't weird that our family was all there. Our ward members were SHOCKED!!! It was kinda fun. We have such supportive family and friends. By my best count there were 39 friends and family members that came just to support Randy. What a blessing. Randy's dad got to ordain him a High Priest and then Pres. Christensen set him apart as 1st counselor. It was very emotional. Randy is so obedient. Pres. Bowden (2nd counselor in Stake Presidency) said how Randy made 2 comments in his interview, one was, "I guess I need to get a new suit (he hasn't had one since his mission 13 years ago) and the other one was, "I guess I'll be shaving my face". Pres. Bowden's response was, "If you're asking, you already know the answer." He complimented Randy on his obedience because he showed up clean shaven with a suit on. He looks totally different, as you can see in the pictures. I am so happy to have a husband that takes all of this so seriously. He had always been a good example to me. So, that's the big secret!!! Surprised?

I bet you don't think I can keep a secret....

Try me!!! I can and will. More to come!!!! I'm not pregnant, that post would read.... "I want to kill myself". So, nice try and it's WAY juicier than that!!!

We will all remember...

To ask, "do you remember what you were doing when you heard the news of Sept. 11th?" is not even a question worth asking. We ALL remember. All of us can recall every detail of that day. I was pregnant with Tyler and sleeping at 7:30am when Launa called and told me to "get your ass out of bed and turn on the news!!!". That's how that day started. I remember Maddison not quite 2 years old, begging for Barney all day and having to watch the planes over and over again. Some of the things that still stand out to me is when the Pentagon was being targeted, my thoughts were, "oh, now your really messing with us!!!". Those weren't my exact thoughts, but you can imagine. I also remember feeling very insecure for the first time in my life. When all the phone calls were going on, I found out that my uncle Gus was in the air and got diverted to Denver where they had to drive back to Vegas. A lot has changed since then and not all for the bad. I found out that the punk that Brittney was dating would turn out to be a hero that would go to war for me. My family will be calling Chuck today to thank him. I hope we all fly our flags today and thank a soldier. Whether you agree with the war or not, thank a soldier. They all have sacrificed a lot for us. I'm proud of my county and proud of those who serve it!!!

Watch out ladies!!!

That's his daddy's boy... Tyler is SUCH a lady's man. It's scary if you ask me. It all started when he was 2, if Twila or Anna came around he would flirt like crazy. They are both very pretty girls with blonde hair. He still has a thing for blondies. Last year in his kindergarten class, there were 20 kids. You need to do some math right now...

20 kids
13 boys
7 girls

Tyler would bring home not 1 but 2 girls to play with!!! There were way less girls by a long shot and he played with them? Ohhh, I am in so much trouble. This year after he met his teacher, he called his friend, Joseph and whispered on the phone, "Mrs. McLaws is a BLONDIE!!!". I'm sure he didn't want me to hear that!!! He is very considerate and compassionate. He has been holding doors open for girls for as long as I can remember. We did not teach him that, he just does it!!! I've always called him my "lover boy" because he always wants to hug and kiss (another thing that's ok now but not in 10 years, kissing girls). Gina has a theory that it's because for the first 2 1/2 weeks he was alive, he was intubated and I couldn't touch him or talk around him because he would de-stabilize and everything would go crazy. So I would kiss the side of his lips and hold my head next to his. I think he could feel me even though he was in a medically induced coma. I love that he is this way, I just hope he never hears the tricks his dad used when he had 5 girlfriends at one time. THAT wont be a good thing. I guess Randy used to be able to handle more than one girl at a time, now he can barely handle me!!! Consider this a warning if you have daughters... especially if they are blonde!!!

Unconditionally?

Really, am I contracted to love my family UNCONDITIONALLY? No matter what? Uhg, I know I'm gonna need help with this. I'm not talking about MY family (Randy and the kids), I'm talking about all of the other ones. I am so sad that I have a sister that fails to see that she is killing any of the positive relationships she has for a lot of negative ones. I am the youngest of 6 girls (no boys) and let me just say that there are some serious hormone issues. Yesterday the lesson in RS was the Visiting Teaching message for the month. It taught how we are all daughters of God and that we all have a divine purpose. I truly believe this. I believe that Heavenly Father made us all the way we are for a very specific reason and that if we don't embrace it we are just insulting Him. With that said, I think ALL perfect models have imperfections that need to be fixed. I know what mine are. If you know me very well, you do too!!! Anyhow, I wont go on. I don't think that morons deserve any more time of me talking on my blog about them... SO THERE!!!

I got attacked...

Got your attention, didn't I? Well, it's true... I got attacked today. I was getting into the game closet in the big room for the Bop It game when all of a sudden I saw my life flash before my eyes. It was all the sh** coming out of the closet at full speed. I didn't know what was happening at first, so I did what anyone would do when under attack... swung my arms in a flailing motion as fast as I could. Oh, it was so scary. Once I realized what was going on, I changed my undies and hit the closet head on. I took mercy on none of it. The picture of the closet is NOT my closet, mine was all games. There were pieces of every game imaginable all over the place. "Why me?" was what I repeated over and over after the attack. I didn't file a report or call my counselor, I was a big girl!!! It's all better now. I'm sure it wont happen again for at least another 6 months or so. Blessing come everyday, it's just if you recognize them... I saw my blessings today!!!

Update on my dad

It's been a long couple of days. Yesterday my dad's cardiologist determined that he needed a pace maker. His heart rate still wasn't going over 50 bpm, that's like almost dead. Everything went well. The only complaint he had as of last night was that his shoulder hurt. It's about a 2 inch incision on his left chest by his shoulder. Not bad. Randy's mom and dad took our kids so we didn't have to even think about them, THANK YOU!!! My dad is blessing my nephew's daughter tomorrow, he wont be able to hold her but that's no biggie. I have learned some lessons from this. 1- sometimes the wiring goes out in your heart even though your heart is great. 2- pace makers have come a long way. 3- some of my sisters are freaks 4-when I say freaks, I'm not-a-kiddin 5- if you get the privilege of having Kevin on the 2nd floor of the hospital as your nurse, count yourself lucky 6- no one believes my when I step into the room and announce, "Hi my name is Dr. Clyde and I will be your surgeon today" 7- when my brain is full of worry for my dad, not a lot else matters 8- true friends are on my "short list" when there is a crisis. 9- my best friends care about my parents too 10- and the best... things DID work out!!!

Thanks for the calls, I am blessed to have awesome people surrounding me. Today he'll get released. I will be gutting out their truck and all that other stuff he can't do. Off I go...

Friday, September 5, 2008

hahahahah....

Ok, so... when I am nervous or sad my natural reaction is to laugh or cry. Right now I'm gonna make myself laugh... cows, especially cows on a hill make me laugh. Randy's tried to figure it out for years, he can't and neither can I. I just think it's freakin hilarious. The first time I laughed at cows on a hill so hard I cried was on our way to Hurricane one day, now I just can't help it. Yesterday we took my dad to the ER with classic symptoms of a heart attack. The doctors are saying right now that it's probably one of the meds he's on with maybe some other stuff going on. Nothing really crazy, hopefully. It was really scary for a little bit yesterday. One thing I am grateful for is 2 of my friends that were at work that would drop everything to come over to give my dad a blessing. My dad didn't want to inconvenience anyone and they did a good job at making him feel like it was no big deal. It was such a scary day and today we just have a lot of work to do at their house. I'm in one of those situations that I should laugh or cry.... COWS ON A HILL!!!! Ok, I'm better!!!!

Welcome home mom and dad!!!!

Believe it or not, this is my mom and dad a LONG time ago!!! Doesn't it look like an old picture from a greeting card? They are coming home today from bring up on the mountain in Emery County since May. It's really hard for all of us when they leave. A lot happens when they aren't here for that long that they miss out on, but I guess they are gonna do what they want. We're all excited to have them home. That just means we're one step closer to their anniversary party on the 27th. All 600 invites are in the mail (or waiting a couple more days so they aren't too early), the plans are all coming together and we're all gearing up for a great day. Now, the only trick is keeping Blanche away from the alcohol. Just kidding, she only ACTS like she drinks. Anyhow, it's a fun month ahead of us.

What a weekend!!!!

It's been a LLOONNNGGGG weekend. We started out on Friday in Hurricane setting up Peggy's Peach Days booth. She had to run to the eye doctor in St. George to have her eyes checked out, it was scary for a minute but all is well. We went to our niece, Naomi's play that night. It was fun. The next morning we were in Hurricane, ready for the parade at 9am. I hate parades, I think they're dumb, but the Peach Days parade is the exception. Cambelle got to ride with Uncle Cory on the committee float. She didn't throw the candy, but she did enjoy some herself!!! The kids left with a HUGE sack of candy and fun memories watching the parade with their cousins. After the parade I got to play "store" until it was time for the peach cook-off. It all went well until the wind/rain/lightening started up. It only lasted for a minute, but it was scary for that minute. At the end of Saturday, we're left with another year of great memories from the celebration.

Then, today was our Clyde family reunion. It was so fun. We were only missing 14 members of the family. We missed those who weren't there, and had fun with the ones that were. I love belonging to the Clyde family. There is always someone to connect with. There are a lot of cousins that are our age and Randy LOVES his cousins. We have always had a blast with the cousins. I remember when we were dating, we were always at Fred and Karen's or Grandma Clyde's playing pool.

All in all it was a fabulous weekend. I'm tired and after playing volleyball, I know now not to do that again!!! Apparently, I'm fatter and older than last time we played volleyball. Just kidding, it wasn't that bad. Happy Labor Day!!! I hope your weekend was as fun as ours!!!
