Tyler's baptism!!!

Article of Faith #4:
We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins;
fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Yesterday was Tyler's big day, the day he had been counting down for so long to. He chose to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was so sure about this decision. He was interviewed by the Bishop and he found Tyler to have a strong desire to enter the waters of baptism. At 10am we went to the Stake Center, there was a talk on Baptism and a talk on the Holy Ghost, then ward by ward we were taken into the room where the baptismal font is. Tyler was overwhelmed when he looked back to see how many people were there for HIM.

He is such a special kid. A person that was saved from the jaws of death a few times. We have no doubt that his mission here on Earth is a special one. I had everyone sign their names in a book for Tyler. When I counted today, there were 80 signatures. Those 80 people were there JUST FOR TYLER. After Randy baptized him, he said that Tyler kept saying, "this feels so good, daddy!!!" and then he would shiver with emotion. Tyler is very sensitive and in tune with the Spirit, yesterday was no different. After the baptism, 12 men stood in the circle to confirm him and give him the gift of the Holy Ghost through the Priesthood. As I looked at those 12 men, I knew how important every single one of them are to Tyler. He looks up to all of them, from his dad, to grandpas to uncles, good friends, ect. He has a lot of good men to pattern his life after. It also made me sad about the ones who chose not to come. I know there are circumstances that kept people from coming, but there are those who could have come and didn't. I'm sad for them. They missed out on a very special day.

After all of the well wishes and hugs from the wonderful people that came, we headed up to our church building for a luncheon. It is so great to be in a room with so many people that we love and we know loves us. Our family is so blessed to be surrounded by so many people that enrich our lives. This is one of those days, 8 years ago, that I didn't know would happen. 8 years ago today, Tyler was on complete life support without much hope that he was going to live. I am so proud of him. He is such an amazing boy. I can't think of a better son to have. He teaches us so much and I am grateful to be his mom.

So, to those who were with us yesterday, thank you. To those who couldn't come, we sure missed you. It was wonderful day for the Clyde family and we look forward to so many more days like that!!!!

Congratulations, Tyler. We love you so much!!!!

Alma 56:47-48 : 47 Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.
48 And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it.

Great Job HOPIE and TYLER!!!
