We will all remember...

To ask, "do you remember what you were doing when you heard the news of Sept. 11th?" is not even a question worth asking. We ALL remember. All of us can recall every detail of that day. I was pregnant with Tyler and sleeping at 7:30am when Launa called and told me to "get your ass out of bed and turn on the news!!!". That's how that day started. I remember Maddison not quite 2 years old, begging for Barney all day and having to watch the planes over and over again. Some of the things that still stand out to me is when the Pentagon was being targeted, my thoughts were, "oh, now your really messing with us!!!". Those weren't my exact thoughts, but you can imagine. I also remember feeling very insecure for the first time in my life. When all the phone calls were going on, I found out that my uncle Gus was in the air and got diverted to Denver where they had to drive back to Vegas. A lot has changed since then and not all for the bad. I found out that the punk that Brittney was dating would turn out to be a hero that would go to war for me. My family will be calling Chuck today to thank him. I hope we all fly our flags today and thank a soldier. Whether you agree with the war or not, thank a soldier. They all have sacrificed a lot for us. I'm proud of my county and proud of those who serve it!!!

Hopie, thank you so much for the wonderful compliment to Clint on our blog. It was very touching... so Thank you! Clint has a twin brother, Clay, and he lives in Maryland and is in the Navy. We are very proud of him too and the choices he's made. We are proud of all our soldiers that fight to keep us all safe and free. Thanks for the wonderful comment and also the reminder on your blog of the day... and yes, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. CRAZY, huh?
